Title: Methane and Oxygen Container to refuel rovers
Post by: Eldruin on October 04, 2010, 06:03:56 PM
do you intend to make a carryable refuel container for the rovers?. i did have one rover run out of fuel near the base, naturally the first thing i did was to the grab the methane container to refuel but it seems you cant :P

oh a bug i forgot to post, when it did run out it regenerated 5.0 fuel on its own. i went to refuel at main hab but after the refuel that rover had an acceleration bug, was accelerating very slowly and top speed didn't go above 3
marco managed to fix by ramming it with another rover and repairing...

As I heard - the Methane containers will have that function later on.
But.....it can only store like what? 5 gal. max.? (less than 20 liters)
Since that's not gasoline I don't think that's much.
In mars conditions how far would you drive with rover using it?
Morover....doesn't the Rover need oxygen aswell as methane to work?

I'am just asking :D

yes it will take both. The fuel powers a fuel cell so those tanks would give you like 1/4 or 1/8 fuel, enough to get home

Ram it and repair it? might consider that a bug yes?
Post things like this in the proper area...

sorry, just decided to add it in here while asking about the refuel of rovers

overall it was a rather minor bug for now just a little annoying...
