hey there.
i have noticed either that most /lots of players have/nt their ports and routers set correctly to host multi as 90% of game i see have 'time out error'. i know the great Dubman posted a link but maybe could we do a general post to all members and explain it and also maybe a easily understood script of how to set up for those of us who aren't in the IT game. i know some players have been struggling to set it up.
also solo is good for a while but the whole point of this game is Multi's and the interaction in a mars colony setting.

I agree but the freebie download doesn't mean they read the docs or even understand what it is. I get alot of wierd remarks. There are buttons and messages all over this thing to get help but some people just wont read.

Hyper, is there a specific port range to for MCO? Like when forwarding ports for other games they usually want a certain range opened. Half Life 2 liked ports 24000 to 24700 forwared.
I have read and figured out how to forward my ports but, need to know what range if possible.
Thanks

Forward port 28000 if I remember correctly.

MCO client works fine from NAT, no need portforwarding
If run Mars Colony demo server v 2.37 then you must forward ports range 28000-28002 TCP and UDP
from public IP firevall/nat to your private IP.

That is correct Ivan. No need to forward ports when connecting to a server.
Mars:Surveyor will be like the old demo and we will need to have this info handy
