I'm stumped. the first time I tried loading directx 9 (at least I think it was directx 9) it seemed to load but didn't fix the problem. When I tried again using the link you provided, I got the following error: "You must be running Windows 98, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 family to install the DirectX 9.0". I already tried moving the files, though I may or may not have moved them correctly. Thanks for the prompt response! Fingers crossed.
