On the horizon..

This is an interesting bit of news for Mars and its possible future..

They seemed to have it all worked out! The location would make for an nice mission.. :)

It does make sense to drill a cave and use that. Just requires a little more umph to do it than a hab.

I think they would just blow out an area near a hillside with tnt then cover it up by making blocks and doing like an igloo. Dirt is a great insulator so I can see the validity of it.

ohh blocks that reminds me of a movie ... they went to mars in what looked like a space shuttle but the fuel tank and the booster rockets were still attached and then they extended them and used them for counter balance for rotation and artificial gravity ... and when they got to mars part of the tests was making bricks from soil and they walled up this canyon put in an air lock and glassed off the top to see if it would hold pressure and air .. well it got used as a life pod later on bu sadly i cant for the life of me remember the name of the movie or find it anywhere =*( so sad id like to watch it again..
