odd thing about PC games is that it seems to me that many games players dont use voice, not sure why.. if compared to xbox live at least anyways..

A speech/orders wheel could be interesting for close range players ie target a player, press i dunno v or something, up pops a orders/speech wheel (with things like, come over here, I need help, can you carry, return to base/rover, I need o2 etc etc) the targeted player gets a nasa sounding sample of an order/speech with the static distortion and the obligitory 'bleep' ant the end.

That is a greate idea!
Hyper - if VOIP is impossible to add to MCO than what about using pre-recorded messages?
Then - if I need something I don't have to type it every time.
Several games uses them.
Prerecorded voice messages could be separated into categories:
Navigation
Statemants
Requests
Misc.

I teach Game Design.
Some help out most are too lazy.

I run a small non-profit where most of the work is done by students as internships for academic credit. The reason I asked that is to suggest it may be possible to have students work on the game as part of their class. That way their laziness wouldn't come into play, since they would be graded.

You'd be surprised what some students can do when given the chance to work on something real. Here is our website, built by our Web Design intern:

Nice Idea :)
Murphy's Law applies "Anything that can possibly go wrong, does." or some say it this way "If anything can go wrong, it will.
