Replanting plants - Idea

Replanting plants

It's simple - player plants seeds which then grows into bigger and bigger plants. I propose that the created seedling could then be taken and replanted into another bin.
Look at this:

Replanting plants would allow players to sort them as they grow: Hyper said that in the future some plant's will die of deseases and accidents (like lack of water or fertilizer) - by replanting they will be separated and they will be easier to maintain (not to mention that deseases will not be transmited on to another). Plants could also be replanted to sort them by age or they'r type. Replanting could also for economical reasons: assuming that you water or fertilize one bin, by replanting you save water, time and fertilizer by growing different plants in only one soil.

One other problem I've noticed is that when you harvest the plants and process them, you get one food item and one seedling. This means that if you started with 10 plants, you will always have 10 plants, since you can't increase the number of seeds. However, you CAN decrease the number of plants you have by accident, such as someone logging in, putting the plant in their inventory, and then logging out, never to be seen again.

If you let the plants get older they will produce more seed. Young plants make better food but older plants make more seed, reality... one plant can produce many seeds but for a game I limited the seed so you have to be more attentive.
I have slowed the plant growth way down to a more realistic time. Should take 10 or more game days now to grow.

@Hyper,

I like the set up as it is- its amazing enough that you got a working greenhouse with simulated growing plants..

be interesting to have some kind of cross polination and/or cross breeding,. selecting strongest plants and gaining seeds, and growing them together.  But... as an idea. Maybe have a "bee Farm" with genetically modifed non- stinging, high honey yielding. They wont need power, but will need a livable envoirment (warmth/air), plants to feed off- and allows for polination..

Have a box in the corner which is "Bee farm" once started and conditions right we get a bit of honey now and again.
