A couple more thoughts:

1. Mental health and morale will likely be major challenges on Mars.  Research shows plants and other natural settings help.  The Greenhouse modules go down this road a little, but a few plants etc decorating the corners of some of the modules might be a nice touch.   Or, how about the option of an "Atrium Hub" that would come with an arboretum look, or even give the main hub a little of such a look -- it doesn't do much else anyway.  Maybe a few pieces of art or paintings on walls would be nice -- prints of course.

2. Crop failures would be expected in real Mars greenhouses.

3. I have learned to not always put too much trust in the recommendations of the kitchen Health Station.  It seems sometimes other action is needed.  I will say no more.

A few bugs or other gremlins I have encountered, none of them game-ending (is there another folder someplace just for bugs.  I didn't see one):

1. When restarting a game after a previous Quit (and I think even once when starting a new game --AI  Competition Mode), the Geology module only has the weather station -- the Comm and Geology stations had disappeared.  When this happened, they were gone for good -- subsequent Quit and Restart did not bring them back.

2. After working fine for taking a number of field soil samples, the LIB Portable -- and on other occasions, the Soil Sampler unit -- stopped taking samples or responding in any other way when pressing "g".  Quitting and Restarting does seem to get them working again.

3. The small panel that displays in the lower left screen (pressure, temp, etc) is at times not "synched" to the Scrubber information.  I mentioned in an earlier post one episode when returning from EVA: screen panel said zero (and air was not in fact breathable), but Scrubber said it was OK.  Another time I accidentally deleted an exterior hub door (whoops), but after resealing base by purchasing another modules (after earning enuf money to do so), pressure in that same panel did not ever budge abover 0.0, despite Scrubber working fine and saying everything was OK.  Again Quiting and Restarting needed to correct.

4. All player selection functions on occasion freeze up (can still navigate around -- just can't do anything).  After a few minutes (5?), problem resolves without doing anything obvious)

5. I note that when I Quit and Restart, any mission assignment in my PDA has been deleted.  This would seem somehow in the same vien as having to set down anything being held before game will allow Quiting.

that's enuf (too much??) for now. I'm going X-country skiing.   cheers

Back from skiing.  I notice that almost all the thumbs down MC reviews on Steam are from before .016 release of Frontier.  Those since then have been Thumbs up.  Seems only fair that at some stage, Steam should remove those for earlier releases (?)

Ellen Hays is a crook. Auger lists for 500, but she charges whatever she feels like: 500, 600, 700.  Also sometimes she doesn't deliver a purchased item at all.

Whomever at main base is buying assayed core samples isn't too bright.  They pay multiple times for multiple cores obtained from the same hole, and from immediately adjacent holes.

If you are reporting a bug lets put that in a separate thread.
What I gather here is you tried to purchase an auger and the price was not as listed and you didn't get the product?
Whomever at the main base meaning what exactly? You get pay for core sample that has not been discovered. What I think you are saying is you get a core, test it on the LIBS and get paid for the discovery more than once?
Please be more specific...

Didn't know if Ellen's quirks were a bug or intentional coding to add uncertainty/real-word inequity.  Any auger I have purchased has been provided, but the amount deducted from bank has often been more than 500 -- as high as 700.  On a few occasions, I have purchased one of the lesser items (core driller), cost was deducted from bank, but the item did not show up on loading platform -- or anywhere else I could find.
I can not make this happen here 500 is a fixed value, just bought 10, log out log in and buy more none have ever been anything other than 500.

As an experiment, I located a mineral drill site; obtained a High Density core sample at depth, raised drill, inventoried sample, then lowered drill into same hole, and inventoried a second Hi Density sample.  Then I moved drill 5 meters away, drilled and inventoried a third Hi Dens smpl of the same mineral.   Took all three back to my base for testing in the Ore Module LIBS and received 100 bank credit for each of the three.  This doesn't seem reasonable; but on the other hand, the 100 credit for all the work and dry holes that can go into finding a High Density sample in the first place seems like inadequate payment -- especially compared to, e.g., to the 100 credit missions from main base NPC that take no more than a minute to complete.
You should get credit for a discovery one time only, will check.

As a related issue, I wonder, if in a multiplayer competitive game, one could set up an auger right next to your competitors' augers.  Sure would save a lot of prospecting   : > )
Code should be in place to prevent this. I will test it.

Re mischarges for mining equipment, I restarted a game from earlier, and charges for various purchases including an auger were as listed. later quit game, and later still restarted it.  Went to buy two augers.  Bank credit before first auger purchase: 7485; credit after: 6885; credit after 2nd auger purchased: 6285, i.e. 600 per auger.

Over charge for auger happens more often than not.  Usually 600. What is interesting is that if all you have in bank is say 560, she will accept that for payment, even though the immediately prior auger purchase was 600.

The 600 had been changed recently, I am sure larger bugs have been an issue.
