Mars Colony Challenger

Survive the elements to set up a remote base on the red planet.

Mars Colony: Challenger is a 3D first / third person game that offers you the challenge of setting up a remote base on the surface of Mars. At its core, the game was derived from a simulator where everything is interactively tied together. You will have to setup and maintain the equipment that supplies pressure and a breathable atmosphere to the base. You are also tasked with growing food, setting up communications and extracting resources in order to make the base self-sufficient. The game offers three zones, each with their unique challenges. There are 7 phases to each mission. Each of the phases expands the base and offers a new set of orders for you to complete. You advance through the ranks as you score points for your performance.

The permanent human colony Ares, has been established on Mars. Humans want to expand their presence on the planet by creating more colonies. After a number of survey missions, water ice was found at various locations on the planet. This game is about trying to establish a self sustainable colony on theese sites. The game is a sandbox type with missions and users must complete all the criteria for a mission in order to advance to the next phase. Each phase will introduce more modules for the base and the final phase will be a completed colony.

Phase 1 - Construction crews have set up the main hub, a life support module and a service module. Users are spawned in front of the building. Their job is to create a livable atmosphere inside the base in preparation for the next phase.

Phase 2 - The power systems module with a hub are added with this version. Users will have to set up the RSG power systems and the solar array. This unit will supply heat and power for the rest of the expansion.

Phase 3 - This phase will add the communications modules with satellite, remote and local data systems.

Phase 4 - The farm hub and 2 greenhouses are added in this phase as well as the service module for the farm/biology areas. The planters are set up and the mission is supplied with seeds and fertilizer to get started growing plants.

Phase 5 - Bio systems are added in this phase with a hub, fish farm, algae greenhouse and bio lab module that connects to the power hub. Users have to fill fish tanks and grow fish. Users have to seed the worm beds, mushroom beds and algae tanks. Mission ends when users harvest a batch of each, make meds from the algae.

Phase 6 - This phase adds the Geology module and the process module to the base. The geology module has the GPR, Core drill, LIBS tester, repair bench and supplies for finding the minerals. The processor module is separate from all and is used to cook raw material or chemically strip the material.

Phase 7 - This should be the end game. Players will have to find the needed resources, refine the material and use it. Pumps and other objects will break permanently so they need the fabrication station with raw materials to build a new one. The freezer should be stocked with food by now from the farm and bio labs with a level of seed, eggs and fertilizer. Once all the levels are up and all the resources are found and processed the user will win the level.
