One of my favorite parts of the simulator is the landscape from far away (500-1000 meters) and also up close. Being able to see realistic smoke when drilling for samples is just plain nice. Looking at the terrain, you can tell that COHAB (home base) has landed inside not only one crater, but in one crater that's inside a second much larger crater.  One of the objectives in Mission 1 is to extract different minerals from the area.
So far I have managed to find:
Silica
Florite
Iron Oxide
Water
Antimony
Tantalum
and Iron
I am hoping to find cobalt soon (for bragging rights). Of course, my EVA suit only holds so much oxygen!
Register on this forum! There is much more going on, but not on this public thread!!

Colony CETS has done for me what other games cannot- keep me intrested.

I love the heady atmosphere, the complex (but simple!) nature of the sim,  and never thought that doing 1000m walk on the surface would be so tense! Hyperkat games got a special piece of software here and it allways suprises me each time I load it, you never get the same mission twice!

Thanks Hyperkat games for making something new and different, something I can really enjoy playing- its such a unique and different type of sim (ive played them all since the 80's on amigas etc) that I think a new abbreviation will be needed! maybe a MOSSOM (Multiplay online survival simulator on mars!). I cant wait for the future updates, 2009 gonna be a good year for going to Mars! ;D

CTRL E exits the rover
If you hit the F1 key in sim there is a whole keymap and helpfile system

CTRL-E does not exit the rover, it zooms in on where you are pointing. Same as z key.

I have tried this.

*Mission 1 Complete*

Standby for more volunteers

Never had the issue of exit on the rover. You can remap the keys or should be able to remap them in the options. CTRL O in game or from the options button at the main menu. Sounds like you installed this over an old version of the game. If so remove it all and re install things from scratch. Save your GAME / USER directory first and put it back on the new install.

Tried to log into your mission yesterday but no luck. Are you sure you have your port forwarding set?

Is this the correct configuration?

I know this is a bit of a bump, but this is where I can post something relevant lol,

I was playing the demo, mission one last night with Geoff and Michael Rouke. Not long before we had enough supplies to be able to take off, the Cohab ended up running out of oxygen so we ended up dashing around trying to get more O2.

It was quite funny, but we never managed to restore all of the O2. Perhaps adding in a backup unit would be good if it hasn't been done as you would expect there to be more than a single O2 canister.

I am glad everyone has had fun with mission 1,2 demo. There is a new one in the works using the new engine and a sample mission.

This is a rumor I will start... Comming soon to a planet near you. The one/two player survey mission. /em ducks behind the desk....
