Comm. Overlay
« on: July 19, 2011, 01:10:58 AM »
On one of our many screens would it be possible to get the comm. towers surrounded by their radius of coverage? Possibly merge or discolour areas of overlap. It would make setting the towers up a lot easier. You could also use the interface to show signal strength/outages due to storms, or what have you.

I'am against it. Comm.towers communicate when they see each other and you see them.  Ther's not much philosophy in in - simply place them as high as possible.

The portable transmitters were intended to assist in communicaitons with the geology computer at the main base. Sort of a wireless LAN if you will. I have looked at a coverage routine, like if you know where you will be working, you could mouse around and try different spots to see if it would be a good spot to drop the temp transmitter. Sort of a mission pre plan.
